Flickr (at least, probably other services too?) doesn't offer unlimited photo hosting/upload. (Shouln't be too useful for you, since you already have them in picasa, but mentioned just in case.)Īh, reading more on that blog post I linked to, I'm starting to see the problem. If that doesn't crash your browser, you can then save them to your computer using "save page as", "complete page", which will create a subdirectory containing all the images. (Also, word is to stay away from kodak, shutterfly and snapfish.)įinally, here's a page that basically creates a website showing all 2000 of your high-resolution photos at once. (Which might take a couple of days, as there could be lots of people doing the same, but should otherwise be completely painless.)) (No, actually, this page says that album information would come over as well, and while there, this one has instructions on how to move over your photos at once. This yahoo blog says: "The next time you log in to Yahoo! Photos, you’ll see your options for moving your entire collection with just one click."Īre you absolutely certain that isn't available for you? It could be that the album hierarchy wouldn't come over, but most services should allow easily recreating that once the photos are there. Uhm, actually, googling on this, I see a lot of people mentioning that yahoo does offer easy transfer of all photos in one go. That way if no such third-party service comes into existence, you'll know which one you want to go with. Always a good idea to have multiple redundant backups anyway.Īnd you could start uploading a couple of dozen at each of those various services to see which one has the best workflow in case you want to do it for real (wish we offered multi-photo upload here at travellerspoint, but alas, that's still on my todo list). Meanwhile, since you have your photos on your computer in picasa, there's no need to download the photos from yahoo first, right? So what I'd do is go make some backups of those photos on DVDs (assuming you have a DVD burner) just in case. If there's anyone technically inclined amongst the yahoo photo users, or if yahoo offers any api whatsoever that a competitor like zoomr could make use of, I'd expect a third-party website to come into existence by then to allow you to automatically transfer your photos. Uhm, what I would do is wait two or three weeks. And now they're saying that won't happen? Yikes. When news of this broke two months ago, they promised a one-click process to transfer all your photos to any of those services. Also, if you start a book, and don't have time to complete it, you can save your work and return to work on it later from your PROJECTS page.Posted by Sander ( Moderator 5991 posts) 16y Star this if you like it! Once you begin creating a book, you can't change the book size, but you can change your book design, page layouts, and many other things via the option menu on the left (and undo anything you don't like). You can drag a lot of photos to a page! Just drag them to any empty space, and click SHUFFLE until you see a layout you like. After making your choice, you'll be taken to your book, where you can see your photo collection and drag photos manually to "PHOTO HERE" boxes, or anywhere on a page. You can then move your photos around, reorder pages, etc. Autofill is the fastest and easiest way to create a book. You'll be prompted about using Autofill to automatically and quickly place your photos in the book, or to place them manually. This takes you to the book builder with the selected photos. On the books page, click a book type, and choose the size and design you want. Once you've selected them, click "Make a Book" in the left menu.
