And Su-ahn, the head of Mirae Apparel, is contributing to the tanking share price of Mirae F&B through various scandalous articles. This news causes a ripple effect not only among the members of the Demon Slayer Corps, but also the Upper Rank Demons, who have been summoned by Muzan Kibutsuji. Sook-hoon, Madam Ju’s nephew, Mirae F&B’s financial advisor, and potential romance for Do-hee seems to be play-acting his affection for her. An Upper Rank Demon has been defeated for the first time in a hundred years by Uzui, Tanjiro, and his comrades effort. What becomes increasingly clear throughout this episode is that all of Mirae Group’s “family” seems to have it out for Do-hee, some of them to a dangerous extent, and the question of why is the big one lingering over the series thus far. It doesn’t mean much on its own for now, but it’ll probably matter later, and it throws some suspicion over Madam Ju when she claims to Do-hee not to be hiding anything. What we do learn in this episode is that Madam Ju was present when Do-hee’s parents died the explosion from their car accident is what damaged her knee, which is why she walks with a cane. He’s in possession of the phone that the Mirae Group whistleblower he killed used to call Do-hee, and he has it out for her and the Mirae Group because of what seems to be some closely held family secrets she isn’t privy to. ![]() This guy’s largely unpleasant in various ways, from eczema on his neck that he can’t stop scratching to his obviously murderous intentions. ![]() ![]() Still, he was wearing a lifelike human mask that renders the artist’s interpretation largely useless. Thanks to Gu-won, the police are privy to many of the details surrounding Do-hee’s would-be assassin, including a sketch of his likeness. Gu-won can’t claim the soul of his recent contract, and spontaneous combustion is potentially on the cards, so he despatches his secretary to learn everything he can about Do-hee. While it was clearly implied in the premiere, this episode confirms that Gu-won has indeed lost his powers, the ramifications of which for a demon – and a demon’s secretary, it seems – aren’t exactly positive.
